Environs – Nothing Hill Gate
Location
The station is located beneath Notting Hill Gate, which runs approximately east/west.
Entrances and Exits
There are four exits – two on each side of Notting Hill Gate, joined by a passage which forms a subway under this road.
- Exit 1, on the south side of Notting Hill Gate faces east towards Kensington Church Street, about 100 metres away.
- Exit 2, on the south side of Notting Hill Gate faces west, towards Holland Park.
- Exit 3, on the north side of Notting Hill Gate faces west, towards the junction with Pembridge Road, about 20 metres away. There is a Pelican crossing over Pembridge Road.
- Exit 4, on the north side of Notting Hill Gate, faces east, away from the junction with Pembridge Gardens, a few metres away.
From Exit 1, on the South Side of Notting Hill Gate
Go down 17 then 9 steps, going west into the south entrance passage
From Exit 2, on the South Side of Notting Hill Gate
Go down 17 then 9 steps, going east into the south entrance passage.
From Exit 3, on the North Side of Notting Hill Gate
Go down 18 then 11 steps, going east into the north entrance passage.
From Exit 4, on the North Side of Notting Hill Gate
Go down 17 then 11 steps, going west, into the north entrance passage.
The passages
The south and north entrance passages are joined by the subway, which runs north/south. The entrance to the concourse is on the east side of this passage, near the south end. There are four steps down just beyond (north of) the concourse entrance.
Entrances to ladies (east) and gents (west) toilets leave from the north side of the north entrance passage. However, both of these were closed at the time of our survey.
Local Buses
There were no bus stops in view of the station at the time of our survey.
Local Features
There’s a selection of food vendors on the south side of Notting Hill Gate, between exits 1 and 2.
There’s an RBS and HSBC on the north side of Notting Hill Gate. The RBS is between exits 3 and 4, whilst the HSBC is on the far (west) side of Pembridge Place.
