LONDON UNDERGROUND ASSISTANCE |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
From the foot of the steps from the south bridge, turn left (180 degrees, west) and follow the wire fence to locate the door to the London Underground Station Supervisor's office. Turn left (south) and then right (west) into the office. Staff are always there, during opening hours, to help.
The front door of District Line trains arriving on platform 8 stops outside the door to this office. The doors will open on your left as you face the front of the train. They'll open on your right if you arrive on platforms 7 or 9.
You'll be on an island platform. Continue forward from the front of the train, go right then left, round the building in front of you, then continue forward to the foot of the steps. Go round these and follow the wire fence on your left to find the door. Go through this, turn right and through the door into the office.
You'll find a wall in front of you, as you get off near the front of the train. Continue forwards, to the front end of the platform to find the slope up onto the bridge to platform 8. If you'd prefer to follow the wall, you should find a raised drain cover before you find the steps down at the end.
Whichever you find first, move left to locate the wooden (outer) rail of the bridge, follow this back then round, up the slope. Keep following this to your left, down the slope onto platform 8. Continue, past a recess in the wall on your right, to locate the door to the office, go through this, turn right again and go through the door into the office.
As you get off near the front of the train, the doors will open on your right (platform 5) or left (platform 6). Your on an island platform, continue forward to the foot of the main steps, in front of you.
Turn right and follow the left-hand side, onto platform 8. You should recognise this by the double set of steps from the south bridge. Turn left immediately beyond these, follow the wire fence on your left and turn left into the door to the office. Turn right and go through the second door into the office itself.
