As you enter the booking office from the pavement, the ticket sales windows are to your left and the glass doors leading onto the platform are in front of you.
As you go through these doors, onto the platform, you're about in the middle of the station building which is towards the west end of the platform. Trains towards Newcastle will approach from your right, whilst those towards Middlesbrough will approach from your left.
