PLATFORMS 3 AND 4 |

This is an island platform with platform 3 lying north of platform 4. At the time of our survey, this appeared to serve southbound GNER services.
There's tactile paving near each edge of the island platform.
There are two archways between the platforms, one between the foot of the steps and ramp, leading to toilets, whilst the other, at the foot of the ramp, leads to travel information and the Pumpkin Cafe Bar.From the bridge, you can either take the first turning right (west) and go down 9 then 10 steps, going west. This is a double set of steps divided by a central rail. Alternatively, you can take the first turning left (east) and go down the ramp. This continues down, east, with a short landing towards the bottom.
Note that, the steps are signed platform 3, whilst the ramp to the east is signed platform 4. It is easier to reach platform 4 via the ramp as you simply turn right, past the cafe, onto the platform. Whichever route you take onto platform 3, you're about in the middle of the platform, with the ramp emerging some metres east of the foot of the steps.
