The station is located in the southwest sector of the junction between Fishergate (east/west) and Butler Street (south), towards the car park for the station and the Fishergate Centre.
The station approach road also leaves south from Fishergate to the main entrance, providing the taxi pick-up point for the station.
There are four entrances/exits to this station:
This entrance offers stairs and step-free access to the station.
The entrance is from the south end of the station approach, you enter the concourse, facing south. The entrance has a canopy supported by four pillars. There are flower pots between the two outer pairs of pillars, the central way is clear. There are three disabled persons parking bays outside the entrance.
This entrance is in the northeast corner of the station, leading west from the vehicle drop-off point. There's an extensive canopy, supported by ten pillars, outside this entrance. There are two bollards across the entrance and metal gates can be used to close the station.
As you continue (west) you reach the east bridge, which offers stairs access to the station.
This entrance offers step-free access to the station.
This entrance is reached via either a ramp leading north or five steps going south on the west side of Butler Street.
There are two bollards across the entrance and metal gates can be used to close the station. As you go (west) into the station, you pass the ramp to the north subway to your left before you reach platform 7.
This entrance offers lift access to the station.
Located twoards the south end of the station, this entrance leads from the west side of Butler Street. There are two bollards across the entrance and metal gates can be used to close the station. As you go inside the station, you're on platform 7 with the customer lift immediately to your right, the door faces west onto the platform.
This is a two-stage crossing of Butler Street, with tactile paving at each side and on the central island, though there is no pedestrian control of this crossing. There's a slight slope up, across the island as you move towards the station. As there is no pavement on the west side of Butler Street north of the station, this is the only safe crossing towards the three side entrances.
This is a two-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end and on the central island. The posts with push button and rotating cone are to your right as you cross in either direction.
Although beyond the western boundary of the station, we include this as there was no crossing at the west arm of this junction.
This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end. The post with push button is to your right as you cross in either direction. This crossing has a sounder, but no rotating cones.
This is a two-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end and on the central island. The island is triangular, such that when crossing to the north (away from the station) you bear right to locate the second half of the crossing. You bear left as you cross to the south. The push buttons, with rotating cones, are to your right as you cross in either direction. The north section of this crossing seems wider than normal.
Note that, despite the triangular island, there's no crossing from the third side of this towards the west side of Butler Street.
