PLATFORMS 1 AND 2, SOUTHBOUND |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
This island platform is divided into platform 1, WAGN southbound which lies east of platform 2, GNER southbound.
A row of stanchions supporting the overhead cables runs along platform 2, whilst a series of posts, about a metre high runs along platform 1. It appears that the latter may be used to close off this platform under some circumstances.
There is no tactile paving towards either edge of this platform.
A drainage channel runs along the platform, on platform 2, to the building. This channel resumes beyond (south of) the lift.
Note, the concrete blocks on the north section of this platform are about a foot apart, whereas they're together on the south section of this island and the whole of platforms 3 and 4.
From the bridge, go down 3 x 13 steps, going north onto the island platform. Platform 2, GNER southbound is to your left, you're about in the middle of the platform. Note the low (two metre) head clearance towards the bottom of the first flight of steps. There is tactile paving at the top and foot of these steps.
