The directions given in this page are in line with the general "keep left" instructions throughout this station.
We suggest that you get off near the rear of eastbound trains (towards
Waterloo), or
Near the front of westbound trains (towards Kingston, Reading and Shepperton)
to make it easy to find the main bridge. We noted that it was possible to walk underneath the stairs to the east bridge (mind your head!) and that the metal fence between platforms 2 and 3 did not go beyond the east bridge at the time of our survey.

Platforms 1 and 2 are terminus platforms which are not normally used. We presume they may be used when larger numbers than normal are using the station, during Rugby matches. We presume that, in this case, the metal fence between platforms 2 and 3 would be removed, making the island platform 2 - 3 fully available. Platform 1 is between the track and the car park; you can cross to the island platform beyond the end of the tracks, i.e. beyond the front of the train and turn right towards the main bridge.
From platform 3, go to the front of the train and continue for about 25 metres. Go up two flights of steps onto the bridge and turn left. Take the turning left and go down two flights of steps, then continue for about 25 metres. Platform 4 is to your left, you're at the rear of the train; Platform 5 is to your right, you're at the front of the train.
From platform 4, eastbound, go to the rear of the train.
From platform 5, westbound, go to the front of the train.
Continue for about 25 metres then go up two flights of steps onto the
bridge, cross the passage and turn right. Take the turning to your right,
cross the passage (through the central barrier) and go down two flights of
steps. Continue for about 25 metres onto the platform. Platform 3 is to your
right, you're at the rear of the train.
Note that platforms 1 and 2, which are not normally used, could also be reached
from here. There is usually a metal fence separating platform 3 from 1 - 2.
