DESCRIBE ONLINE |
This is a through station on the line between London Waterloo and Reading, which runs approximately east/west through the station. Branch lines to Kingston and Shepperton are also served by this station.
There are five platforms, numbered 1 - 5 from north - south.
The booking hall is at the north end of the main bridge, which crosses the track about 25 metres west of the platforms. A sloping pavement from the south end of the bridge, leads onto London Road, via the south entrance to the station.
A second, east bridge, joins all platforms, just east of the station buildings.
The car park lies north of platform 1, extending for the length of the platform. This is normally reached via the road to the north of the station entrance, though it can be accessed via a gate at the foot of stairs from the east bridge, which was open at the time of our survey. A gate, from platform 1, was closed. We believe the public is not encouraged to use either of these routes.
There is stairs-only access throughout this station and, potentially, step-free access from the car park to platforms 1 - 3. However, there is no step-free access to platforms 4 - 5.
