GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
This is a through station on the lines from Charing Cross towards Rochester and Hastings, which run approximately southeast.
A small concourse leads northeast from the foot bridge from Waterloo Mainline Station. From this, two passages lead southeast, down ramps onto platforms B, C and D, then A.
There are four platforms, designated A through D, from northeast/southwest. Platforms A and D are single platforms along the sides of the station, whilst platforms B and C share an island platform.
Platforms A and C serve outbound trains, from Charing Cross, whilst platforms B and D serve inbound.
A subway, between the effective southeast ends of all platforms, links this station to Southwark Underground Station. There is stairs-only access between the platforms and subway.
There is lift access from Waterloo Mainline Station onto the foot bridge and step-free access from the foot bridge to all platforms. There is, however, only stairs access between the platforms and the subway.
We therefore believe that the entire station is accessible to Guide Dog users, whilst only the route to/from platforms via the concourse is accessible to wheelchairs.
