HOW TO REACH PARTICK RAIL AND BUS STATIONS |
DESCRIBE ONLINE |
You can leave the Centre via the Main or Side entrance. We direct you to the second path leading from Anderson Street as this provides a more accessible crossing of Vine Street, to the Morrisons building.
Although you could reach the Bus Station via the island between the entrance and exit roads of the Morrisons car park, we think it may be easier to follow the pavement from the far end of the shop building, as at the time of our survey, there were no dropped kerbs or marked crossings to/from the island.
Similarly, we suggest that, to reach the taxi rank, you also follow the pavement from the far end of the shop building and use the zebra crossing of Merkland Street.
See the Outside the Building page for details of gullane and Anderson Streets.
Describe Online has published a guide to Partick Station, see the Environs page of this guide for details of the Bus Station, taxi rank and local street network.
As you leave the Reception Area, you go through an automatic door, then continue down a slight slope before going through another automatic door onto the pavement. Turn left, continue down the ramp to the corner of the building, you're now in Anderson Street. Note that this street is blocked to traffic at the left-hand end, so there is little traffic on this street. Cross Anderson Street and turn right.
You go along the short passage leading away from the Resource Centre, then through an automatic door. From here, you can turn right and go down two steps, or turn left and go down the ramp onto the pavement of Anderson Street.
If you use the ramp, turn right then right again at the bottom and continue past the steps . If you used the steps, then simply continue along the pavement.
You pass the two fire exits, to your right before you reach the corner of the building. Turn left here and cross Anderson Street. Note that this street is blocked to traffic at the left-hand end, so there is little traffic on this street. Turn right.
Pass the first path, immediately on your left and continue to the second before turning left. There's a bollard in the middle of the path, near this end, go down the slope, turn left at the bottom and find the tactile paving indicating the zebra crossing to your right.
Cross Vine Street, turn right and continue to the corner of the Morrisons building, on your left.
Although you could continue forward from here, onto the island then turn left for the Bus Station or go straight across to the taxi rank, at the time of our survey, there were no dropped kerbs nor marked crossings to/from this island. We therefore suggest you turn left and continue to the corner of the shop building.
Continue forward, across Merkland Court. The wall of the station is in front of you, as you reach the wall, turn right and go into the station via the South Entrance. Alternatively, you could follow the building round to your left and go in through the Main Entrance.
Turn right. The car park is to your right and we noted a tree near the edge of the pavement. Take the turning right, onto the pavement of the Bus Station, as you continue along this pavement, you find Stances 1, 2 then 3 on your left.
Turn right and continue, past the car park on your right, to the kerb in front of you. If you don't find tactile paving, then move left to locate this. Cross Merkland Street, via this crossing and turn right. The taxi rank is to your right, we understand the pick-up point is towards the far end of this pavement, near the corner of Vine Street.
