GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
Describe Online |
This is a through station on the City Branch of the Northern Line which runs approximately east/west through the station.
There is one island platform with platform 1, southbound (trains run east towards Moorgate), lying north of platform 2, northbound (trains run west towards King's Cross).
A small concourse, at street level is joined to an intermediate level by escalators. We understand that these are the longest escalators in Europe, outside Moscow.
The intermediate level is the passage between these escalators and the much shorter, lower escalators to platform level.
Note, there is only escalator access throughout this station. We therefore believe the station is inaccessible to wheelchairs and is only accessible to Guide Dog users when one escalator in each set is stopped.
