This concourse provides escalator-only access to the northbound (platforms 9 and 10) and southbound (platforms 7 and 8).
You can reach this concourse via escalators leading north from the Bakerloo Line concourse, or via stairs from the Metropolitan Line platforms 1-2 or 3-4.
A short passage extends north from the foot of the escalators to the west end of an open area containing many pillars, barriers and other obstacles. The stairs from the Metropolitan Line platforms lead into the south side, whilst the escalators between here and the northbound platforms lead north, from a point almost opposite the stairs from platforms 3 - 4. The escalators between here and the southbound platforms lead east from the far (east) end of this space. A rail between the down (south) and up escalators reinforces the intended anti-clockwise circulation through this area.
There are simple routes through this area, described below, which allow you to move in the intended direction.
Go through the gates, the escalators are in front of you. Move to the right, in front of the downward escalator.
Go down 9 then 16 steps, going north. The steps are divided by a central rail, keep left.
Go down 12 then 13 steps, going north. These steps are divided by a central rail, keep left.

The passage opens out into a concourse through which people move anti-clockwise. The left-hand wall retreats west, then curves right across the north side of this space, towards the escalator from the southbound platforms.

Follow the right-hand side till you locate the stairs for platforms 3 and 4 and turn left as you reach the opening. The escalator for platforms 9 and 10 (northbound) is opposite the left hand side of the stairs.
Follow the right-hand side until the wall turns right into the passage towards the escalators to the Bakerloo Line concourse. Cross the passage in front of the escalator to the Bakerloo Line concourse, turn left and follow the wall to locate the stairs. This keeps you moving in the preferred direction.
Turn right at the top of the escalator. You will enter the passage leading to the escalators to the Bakerloo Line concourse.
Continue forward from the top of the escalator, to the wall in front of you. Turn left to locate the stairs for platforms 3 - 4; right for 1 - 2.
