There are three gate lines within this station - one for the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, platforms 1 and 2, for the lower platforms (Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines), whilst the third is at the Pentonville Road exit. There's a manual gate at each end of the first two gate lines, note that the left-hand one is normally the one you need. The manual gate for the Pentonville Road exit is at the north (left-hand as you enter) end of the gate line.
