The station is bounded to the north by Duke Street Hill, which continues (east) into Tooley Street. Joiner Street, which is partially pedestrianised runs north/south between the Underground and mainline stations. Borough High Street runs north/south to the west, whilst St Thomas Street (east/west) runs south of the station.
The lower level of the mainline station lies east of the main concourse of the Underground station, whilst London Bridge Bus Station is at a higher level, above the Underground station and south of the main entrances to the mainline station.
There are two exits leading north onto Duke Street Hill which we’ll call the west and east exit.
There are three routes to Joiner Street which lead to/from the mainline station. We understand that the two to the north (nearer Tooley Street) are entrances to the Underground station, whilst the third is an exit.
There's an entrance on each side of Borough High Street, the one on the west side is signed Borough Market.
The west entrance from Duke Street Hill leads south into the Underground concourse, go up the slope.

You go up four steps, going north onto the south side of Duke Street Hill.

Whilst details of the mainline station lie beyond the scope of this survey, we noted a series of automatic gates on the east side of Joiner Street. The signage suggests that these are exits from the mainline station from which you could either turn right into Tooley Street, or continue into the main concourse of the Underground Station.
Although details of the mainline station lie beyond the scope of this survey, we noted a passage leading east, near the south end of the pedestrianised part of Joiner Street, past a series of retail outlets, towards the escalators to the mainline station.
As you leave the Underground Station, you'd turn right and continue along Joiner Street until you reached this passage.
This is just north of the junction with Southwark Street. You go down 3 x 16 steps, going north, into the lower concourse.
You enter facing east into the street level concourse.
There’s a crossing of Duke Street Hill outside the east exit. This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end. There's a push button with rotating cone to either side as you cross in either direction.
This is west of Joiner Street. This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end. There's a push button with rotating cone to each side as you cross in either direction. There's also a sounder at this crossing.
This is a single-stage crossing with tactile paving at each end and a tactile island in the middle. The push button with rotating cone is to your right as you cross in either direction.
This is a two-stage crossing with tactile paving throughout. The push button with rotating cone is to your right as you leave the pavement in either direction. On the central island, you turn right then left. The push button with rotating cone is to your left as you leave the island in either direction.
We used the subway into the Underground station. Following the railings beside the kerb, past bike racks , round the corner left (north) into Borough High Street. You go up a slope to the subway entrance.
From the east exit, go up 14 then 14 steps, going north, turn right (180 degrees, south) go up 14 steps, going south into a short passage which leads to the bus station.

Continue from the top of the steps from the east entrance, onto the pavement along the north side of the bus station and turn right (west) . The taxi drop-off point is on your left, after a few metres.

Note that the entrance to the Underground station is immediately west of the mainline. The next exit leading north from the bus station takes you to London Bridge Walk.
