The main concourse is located beneath the junction of Oxford Street and Regent Street, with an entrance and exit at each corner of the junction.
A secondary concourse, which we'll call the exit concourse, lies under East Oxford Street with four exits around the junction between Oxford Street and Argyll Street. Two exits emerge onto the south side of Oxford Street East, whilst two more emerge onto the east side of Argyll Street.
Although designated as exits, exits 1 - 4 are primarily entrances and can also be used as exits. Exits 5 to 8 are exits only.
The stairs to all the entrances are located in the middle of the pavement, facing the junction. From a Pelican crossing, follow the textured pavement away from the road for a few metres before turning towards the junction to locate the top of the stairs.
Exit 1 emerges on the corner of East Oxford Street and North Regent Street. Go up 13 then 18 steps, going northwest you're on the junction.
Exit 2 for Shelley's, Dickens & Jones, Liberty and Hamleys, emerges near the junction of South Regent Street and East Oxford Street. Go up 12 then 19 steps, going east you emerge on Oxford Street.
Exit 3, for Benetton and Olympus Sports, emerges near the junction of South Regent Street and West Oxford Street. Go up 12 then 19 steps, going west, you're on Oxford Street.
Exit 4, for H and M, BHS, John Lewis, D H Evans, Debenhams, Langham Hotel, London College of Fashion, emerges near the junction of West Oxford Street and North Regent Street. Go up 13 then 19 steps, going northeast.
Exit 5 emerges on the south side of East Oxford Street, just beyond the pelican crossing, for Marks and Spencer', go up 21 steps, going north.
Exit 6 emerges on east side of Argyll Street, at the junction with East Oxford Street. Go up 13 steps, going east, turn right (180 degrees), then go up 9 steps, going west.
Exit 7 emerges on the south side of East Oxford Street, just east of the junction with Argyll Street. Go up 22 steps, going north.
Exit 8, for Liberty, London Palladium, Marlborough Street Magistrates Court and Carnaby Street, emerges on the east side of Argyll Street, a few metres south of East Oxford Street. Go up 16 steps, going west.
There are pellican crossings at each corner of the junction of Oxford and Regent streets.
We believe the crossing of Regent street North used to be a two-stage staggered crossing. This is still two-stage, though you can walk straight across the central reservation. There are posts with push buttons and rotating cones to each side of you throughout this crossing. This is a wide crossing with the steps to the toilets in the central reservation.
As you move north along the east side of Regent Street, you cross Great Castle Street before reaching Bus Stop RF1, serving: buses towards Trafalgar Square - 3, 12. 88, 453, C2, N3, N18 and N136. The 12, 88, 453 and C2 are 24 hour services.
As you move south along the east side of Regent Street, you reach Bus Stop RG, serving: 3, 12, 88, 159, 453, N3, N18, N135 and N159. The 12, 88 and 453 are 24 hour services.
Some distance along the south side of Oxford Street West is Bus Stop OQ, serving: 6, 7, 15, 23, 98, N7, N15 and N98. 6 and 23 are 24 hour services.
As you move north on Regent Street West, you cross Great Castle Street we find an alighting only stop then cross Margaret Street before reaching Stop RD, serving: 88, 453, C2 and N18. The 88, 453 and C2 are 24 hour services.
As you move west along Oxford Street North, you cross John Prince's Street before reaching Bus Stop OH, this is an alighting only stop serving: 113, 137, 189 and N137.
This station is located in the middle of a major shopping area, details of which lie beyond the scope of this survey.
