General Information
This station is an integral part of the Paddington complex, so I make no
apologies for not duplicating effort in writing two Environs pages where one
would do.
Please
visit the Environs page of our guide to
Paddington Mainline Station for details of the nearby road network, local
buses, taxis and road crossings.
Entrances and Exits
The Underground station has four entrances/exits:
- The Praed Street entrance appears to be the major entrance from street level. From the Southeast Side of Praed Street , go down 10 steps, going southeast into the Praed Street concourse, which bridges the tracks for the Circle and District lines. These steps are divided into two sets by a rail. Note the tactile paving at the top of the steps.
- The London Street entrance is located in the island between London Street and the slip way into the mainline station. Go down 12, 13 then 13 steps, going northwest into the London Street concourse, which is above the tracks for the Bakerloo Line.
- The entrance opposite the tracks for platforms 11 - 12 of the mainline station. Go down 16 steps, going southeast into a passage which veers right (south) into the London Street concourse, just beside the gate line.
- From the entrance in the southeast side of the mainline concourse, opposite platform 5, go down 10 then 11 steps going southeast into the Underground concourse. The down escalator is to your left, the up to your right. These steps are divided into 3 by rails.
