As you walk towards the station, from either direction, locate the barrier on the outside of the pavement which juts inwards before you reach the top of the stairs.
Go round the end of the barrier and move toward the road side before continuing forward to find the stairs. Descend 20 steps, parallel to Marylebone Road before turning away from the road (south) to descend 15 steps to the concourse level. The lower stairs are divided by a rail into two flights though no sign indicates which side should be used in preference.
Continue south, from the bottom of the stairs, down a slight slope into the concourse. The concourse consists of two rectangular areas, which I shall call the entrance and ticket sales areas.
You enter, via stairs, from the north.

You don't need to go so far across here.
You turn left into here from the entrance area.

A glass barrier occupies the south side with an additional exit gate facing north.
