Description
Help Points
The help points in this station consist of a circular housing with a breakable glass fire alarm button at the top, a larger (green) emergency button in the middle and a smaller (blue) information button towards the bottom.
The speaker and mic grill are to your left of the buttons.
DLR Alarm Points
The DLR has alarm points which differ from the help points normally found in London Underground stations.
There are three buttons, from the top:
- fire alarm
- passenger alarm
- emergency train stop.
There's also a sign warning you that you’re on video.
Location of Help Points
In the East Concourse
- to your left as you come in via the main entrance
In the Middle Subway
- on the right-hand (east) side as you go away from the East Concourse, before the steps to platforms 6 - 8
- on the left-hand (west) side as you move away from the East Concourse, between the lifts to platforms 9 - 10 and 1 - 2
In the Level 1 Walkway
- on the left-hand (south) side as you move away from the Level 1 entrance, above tracks 16 and 17
- outside the gates of the Level 1 Entrance, to your right (northeast) of the Wide Aisle entrance gate
In the West Subway
- on the left-hand (west) side, as you leave the West Concourse, between the steps to platforms 3 - 5 and the lift to platforms 6 - 8
- on the left-hand (west) side as you leave the West Concourse, beyond the lift to platforms 9 - 10
- on the right-hand (east) side, just before the lift to the North Concourse
In the Middle Subway
- on the west side, between the steps to platforms 3 - 5 and 6 - 8
- on the west side, between the steps to platforms 9 - 10 and the passage to the Middle Subway
- about half way along the left-hand (south) side of the passage as you approach the Middle Subway
In the North Concourse
- outside the gates, to your right (north) of the gate line as you come into the station, to your left of the Wide Aisle exit as you leave
- inside the gates, on the left-hand (west) wall as you leave either of the subways
On the Jubilee Line Platforms
- near the front and rear of the train on platform 13
- near the front and rear of the train on platform 14
- about in the middle of the train on platform 15
Note that the help points on platforms 14 and 15 are on the pieces of wall.
On the London Overground Platforms 1 - 2
- opposite the top of the steps from the West Subway
- on platform 2, just beyond the steps from the Middle Subway
- in the middle of the island platform, just beyond the end of platform 2
On Platform 3A, Central Line Westbound
- just before (east of) the escalator exit to the DLR
- just beyond (west of) the passage to the Level 1 Walkway
- just beyond (west of) the entrance from the Level 1 Walkway
On Platforms 3 - 5
- on platform 5, just beyond (east of) the lift to the West Subway
- on platform 3, on a pillar just before (west of) the steps to the Middle Subway
- on platform 5, opposite the door to the lift from the Middle Subway
On Platforms 6 - 8
- on platform 8, just beyond (east of) the lift from the West Subway
- on platform 6, beside the door to the lift from the Middle Subway
- on platform 6, just before (west of) the steps from the East Subway
On Platforms 9 - 10
- on platform 9, beside the door to the lift from the West Subway
- on platform 10, beside the door of the lift from the Middle Subway
- on platform 10, on the wall between the west and east steps to the East Subway
On Platforms 10A - 11
- in the middle of the wall across the island platform, opposite the steps from the Middle Subway
- on platform 11, just before (west of) the steps from the East Subway
On Platform 12
- just beyond (east of) the foot of the ramp from platform 1
Location of Alarm Points
On the DLR (Stratford Branch), Platforms 4A and 4B
- about in the middle of platform 4A
- near the beginning and end of platform 4B
On the DLR (Stratford International Branch), Platforms 16 and 17
On Platform 16, Northbound
- just beyond, (south of) the first set of seats as you turn right from the entrance
On Platform 17, Southbound
- just beyond (south of) the fire extinguishers, which are about in the middle of the platform
