The island platforms are joined by passages between the east end of the Central Line, platforms 1 - 2 and the north end of the Northern Line, platforms 3 - 4. The following directions are given according to the intended traffic flow through the station.

From Central to Northern Line From Northern to Central Line |
From platform 1, cross to platform 2 and turn right, towards the front of the eastbound train. Continue into the passage off the end of the platform, up 3 steps then down 2 flights of stairs before turning right. Descend another flight of stairs then follow the passage left, then right, onto the north end of platform 4. For platform 3, take the second passage on your right.
From platform 4, cross to platform 3 and turn right, towards the front of the northbound train. Continue into the passage off the end of the platform, up one flight of stairs and turn left. Ascend two more flights of stairs into a passage. Turn right, then left, into the circulating area. Turn right then left again into a passage with a metal barrier along the middle. Continue to the end before turning right and left again to descend a flight of stairs to the island platform. Platform 1, westbound is on your left, you're near the second carriage from the rear of the train. Platform 2, eastbound is on your right, you're near the second carriage from the front of the train.
