This level includes the "breakout" rooms, all of which are accessed from the Level 1 Passage. As the passage is blocked by staff-only rooms across the north side of the building, we consider this passage in two sections - The Level 1 East and West passages.
The East Passage serves Harris Room 2 and the Ochil Suite, whilst the West Passage serves Harris Room 1 and the Carrick Suite.
You reach Level 1 via the Main Stairs, facing west. There are three pillars in the area between the stairs and the escalators, in front of you. There’s a window wall to your left (south).
The escalators are on the west side of this space with the one to/from Level 0 north of that to/from higher levels. There’s a pillar in this space, between the tops of the escalators.
There's a water cooler and various obstacles in front of the right-hand (north) wall. There’s a large pillar in the middle of this space, we suggest you go to your left of this before carrying on (west) into the passage.
Turning right (180 degrees, east) from the top of the stairs, you pass a wooden ledge on your right then go through a set of push double doors into the passage.
