THE MAIN (VIP) LIFT |

The main (front of house) lift is called the VIP lift. This is on the south side of the building and is reached, at all levels, via a small foyer, see below.
At all levels, the push button is to your right (west) of the door, you go in facing south.
There’s a hand rail around three sides. The control panel is on the north side, immediately to your left as you go in. The buttons are arranged:
There are clear spoken announcements.
Come in through the Main Entrance, at Level 0. Pass the Concierge Desk on your left and continue past the recess to the escalators. Follow the left-hand wall to find the doors to the VIP Lift Foyer, on your left.
You go through either of two single push doors going southwest into the foyer.

This ramp leads down southwest towards double fire exit doors with crash bars. You can follow the left-hand side down, past a blank door on your left. If you follow the right-hand side, the rail retreats (west) into an area which can be obstructed by cleaning equipment, continue (south) to the exit doors, in front of you.

The doors to the Foyer at Level 1 are off the west section of the Level 1 Passage. Leave the area of the stairs and escalator wells, go through the push double doors in front of you then through either the first or second single push door on your left. Note there's a pillar near the wall before you reach the first door and another between the two doors to this foyer.
You go through either door, going southwest.

The doors to the Foyer at Level 3 are off the south segment in the Level 3 West Passage. Leave the area of the stairs and escalator wells, go through the push double doors in front of you then through either the first or second single push door on your left. Note there's a pillar in the wall between the two doors into the foyer.
You go through either door, going southwest.

Note that this isn't normally used by delegates, as you'd normally continue down to Level -2 for the Cromdale Hall. We include these details for completeness.
At Level -1, the door to the foyer is on your right as you move (west) away from the top of the escalator from Level -2. You go through this door facing north.
Turn left (west) follow the blank wall on your left to the lift, on your left. The call button is to your right (west) of the door.
Note that there’s a brick wall beyond the lift and a blank door leading west from this space.

This is a smaller foyer than that at levels 0, 1 and 3. At Level -2, the door to the foyer is on the right-hand (west) side of the Cromdale Foyer as you leave the Cromdale Hall.
